Cthulhu Supremus Est
Mythos Points and You
What are Mythos Points?
Mythos Points are a reward given by the Keeper to Investigators/Players for in-game and out-of-game achievements.
Mythos Points are rewarded at the discretion of the Keeper, and can be used at the discretion of the Investigator/Player.
How do I earn Mythos Points?
In-game, an Investigator may receive a Mythos Point by making a critical skill/combat/sanity check, deciphering a hard-to-read tome, successfully completing an investigation, avoiding sanity loss for an entire scenario, learning a spell, or dispatching an elder god. The Keeper may choose to reward Mythos Points for bravery, sacrifice, or exemplary role-playing.
Out-of-game, a Player may receive a Mythos Point by contributing to the Cthulhu Supremus Est campaign site. This includes creating Player Journals, commenting on Adventure Logs, updating your Character Page, or posting/replying to the Forums.
How do I use Mythos Points?
Mythos Points are used in-game to improve your Investigator or change a particular outcome. Here is a breakdown:
- 1 Mythos Point: Reroll a skill/combat check
- 2 Mythos Points: Add 25% to a skill/combat check
- 3 Mythos Points: Automatic success on a skill/combat check
- 4 Mythos Points: Automatic success on a sanity check
- 5 Mythos Points: Increase any skill 5%
What’s the catch?
- An Investigator/Player can bank up to a max of 5 Mythos Points.
An Investigator/Player is responsible for keeping track of their Mythos Points (The Keeper suggests adding a line-item to your Character Page to keep track of your Mythos Points).
